Platelet Rich Plasma, the English term from which the acronym PRP derives, has for several years found application in various branches of medicine, ranging from orthopedics to aesthetic medicine.
In our Center, you can undergo bio-regeneration sessions with PRP with us Aesthetic Surgeons, Dr. Elia Sentine and Dr. Marco Galati.
What is PRP Platelet Rich Plasma?
PRP is a powerful concentrate of growth factors capable of stimulating fibroblasts and collagen synthesis, thus regenerating the vital state of the skin.
The PRP bio-regeneration technique involves a first collection phase, in which a small blood sample is taken from the patient. We then move on to the centrifugation phase, in which the sample is placed in a special centrifuge that allows to obtain the Plasma Rich in Platelets. At the end of this operation, three layers are observed: the PPP (Plasma Poor Platelets), the PRP (Plasma Rich in Platelets), the red blood cells. In the last phase, called separation, the PRP is isolated and combined with a platelet activator. At this point, the serum obtained is administered to the patient from whom it was taken. The administration takes place through a series of micro-injections in the area to be treated. It is a minimally invasive procedure that can be performed after a mild local anesthesia.
The treatment involves a cycle of sessions, at various intervals in time, in order to induce and maintain significant stimulation.
How does it work?
The treatment lasts about 60 minutes, including the withdrawal time, and leaves no result except a few small bruises that will disappear within a few hours.
After the treatment you can immediately resume your normal daily activities.
You will begin to notice the effects of stimulation by growth factors after a couple of weeks. Your skin will appear brighter, firmer, supple, turgid, fresh and rejuvenated. The fine lines will be smoothed out.
The PRP procedure is safe, does not present the danger of major complications, allergies or immunological reactions, since everything that is necessary for the regeneration of the skin and tissues is autologous, that is, it comes from yourself.
Microinjections of PRP are also indicated in the case of scalp problems such as androgenic alopecia and alopecia areata, slowing down hair loss and strengthening the shaft.
